VILLAGE OF MURDOCK
JUNE 24, 2024
The Village of Murdock Board of Trustees met on Tuesday June 4, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall. Roll call as follows; Jake Wilson, Dave Nuss, Michelle Chesnut, Lee Towle, Brittany Cooklin and Clerk were present.
The minutes from the previous May meeting were read and then Michelle Chesnut motioned to approve the minutes and Brittany Cooklin second the motion with all members voting in favor of.
The following checks were approved for payment: OPPD elect.-766.82; Ashland Disposal Service garbage-2864.97; Todd Valley Plumbing & Heating toilets-1251.07; Cass co RWD#2 609,000 gals-3166.80; Cass Co RWD#2 read met.-1263.80; Young & White Law Offices legal serv.-655.81; Lovell Excavating sewer repair-2500.00; Column Software PBC publish.-72.24; St of NE PHE Lab wat test-15.00; C. Wilson mow-330.00 (J. Wilson abstained) D. Weeks dep. Refund-35.99; J. Barnes payroll-1086.62; J. Faubion postage/reg service-181.70; McHugh Insurance Agency ins. Premium-9283.00; Young & White Law Offices legal serv.-753.31; Ramada by Windham fire school-1589.50; Trade Well Pallet Inc. mulch-2090.00; D&H Construction tow-150.00; St. of NE Dept of Revenue sales tax-107.08 (auto withdrawal).
Old business of repairing the pump at the old well site was briefly discussed but no further new information has been obtained and again tabled. Dave Nuss will be checking with the state for clarification on regulations for the well if it is refurbished.
The Interlocal Agreement was re-opened and if there becomes more reasons to sign up with Cass Co. then, the Board will address the topic more thoroughly and make a decision at that time.
Dave Nuss up-dated the Board of the sewer work that was done by Lovell Excavating. A shorter portion of the alley line was replaced after the line had the camera ran through it and Contractors deemed it ok and flowable. an Ben Madsen attended the meeting requesting approval for a SDL that would extend his license along the North exterior side of the building from front to the back and also would include second street. This would take place during the afternoon/evening hours on July 4, 2024. He will decide closer to the event if this extension will take place. Michelle Chesnut motioned and Jake Wilson second the motion with all members voting in favor of.
Rosetta Story attended the meeting to discuss the Street Signs that need to be replace. Nuss will inventory the stock on hand along with Stroy. The signs and equipment needed will be ordered at a future date.
The CLA Valve in the meter to control water level in the water tower pit has been shipped and should arrive next week. Sidewalk repair was discussed and J. Wilson will contact J. Graham to give an estimate to replace the sidewalk just north of the Post Office. D. Nuss requested permission to install “Child with Autism” sign at his property for awareness to drivers. This passed with unanimous decision. Dave Nuss will be attending the Hazard Mitigation Meeting on Thursday June 6, 2024.
Lee Towle motioned to add Eric Towle to the Murdock Volunteer Fire Department. Chesnut second the motion and it passed unanimously by RCV all voting in favor of.
The Board entered into executive session before closing the meeting.
There, being no further business, motion was made by Towle and second by Chesnut that the meeting close and the next regular meeting will reconvene on Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at the Murdock Village Hall and it carried unanimously by RCV.
