Did you know that Murdock High School volleyball was part of the FIRST University of Nebraska Volleyball program? In fact, you can pretty much say they STARTED Nebraska Volleyball. No wonder we have such a strong tradition of volleyball with our current program.
To read the entire article you have to visit the Murdock Historical Museum. In the 60s Murdock was a VOLLEYBALL powerhouse. If you know any of these ladies please pass this along.
If you haven't stopped by the Murdock Museum, this is just one TINY piece of history you can find.

Have you been keeping up with the latest Elmwood history postings on the Elmwood Cultural Arts & Learning Center Facebook page?
Here’s what we’ve highlighted over the last month:
* Elmwood High School graduating classes of 1928 & 1929
* Elmwood-Murdock graduating classes of 2002 & 2003, including the Kindergarten classes from these years
* Peter Eveland – Civil War Veteran, homesteader. Last surviving member of the Elmwood G.A.R. Post 123. When he passed away in 1933, the post was disestablished. Some of his Homestead Records are also shown.
* An Elmwood Leader-Echo article from 1919 about the celebration of George E. Buell and George E. Vanderburg, early pioneers in our community, to commemorate having lived here 50 years. Interesting story of their journey here and their struggles as homesteaders.
* Fifteen-room hotel in Wabash for sale - $4,000
* William Buster, Civil War Veteran – stories of his time as a Confederate Soldier.
There are many more chapters of Elmwood history to come. Join us on this journey of preserving the history of our community. “Like” the Elmwood Cultural Arts & Learning Center page to learn our history or share historical tidbits from your own experiences/family.
