Busy Couple of Weeks in the Elmwood-Murdock Community
You may have noticed I haven't been posting as many photos in the past couple of weeks. It was because I posted the last two weekly editions from the road and my internet was less than ideal. Let's put it this way, remember dial-up speed?
Remember reading a book while waiting for images to download. Well that is what a mobile phone "hot spot" connection is like while you are camping in the middle of Kansas or Oklahoma. So apologize for the same HIstorical photos. Hopefully, this week makes up for it.
Murdock Historical Museum
I know fall is here, but I had to post this photo of skinny dipping as an ode to summer. Does anyone know these young boys? How about any of their children or grandkids? I bet they would LOVE to see this.
I wonder if the pond is still there? Might be fun for someone to recreate it...
Last week Trinity Murdock Sunday School kids introduced fall with the song "This Little Light of Mine" and a jack-o-lantern lesson. They also made pumpkins to decorate the bulletin board.
Remember the lyrics?
This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine
This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel (pumpkin) NO! I'm going to let it shine.
Hide it under a bushel "pumpkin" NOT! I'm going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.

The party continues in the evening with Shooter Jaxx and Nate Keim. With roots in alt-country and southern rock, Shooter Jaxx’s gritty, hard-rocking shows have graced music festivals and street dances across the Midwest and far as Austin, Texas. Touring in support of their most recent EP “Southbound,” they’ve shared the stage with The Steel Woods, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Logan Mize, Black Stone Cherry, Them Dirty Roses, and Blackhawk. Hailing from western Nebraska, country and Americana singer-songwriter Nate Keim and his band will kick off the show at 8 pm on Eldora Avenue.
