Vacation Bible School

If you drove by Trinity Lutheran Church this week in the evening you may have seen kids running around outside. Well, it was Vacation Bible School and the kids were having fun learning about the impossible things Jesus has done.

Over 40 kids from preschool to 6th grade participated in lessons, crafts, and singing.

Older kids volunteered and helped with music and organizing the games.

Murdock Historical Museum
The Murdock Museum is a wonderful trip to the past. It's the little things, the details of everyday life that bring back memories. Like these product labels. Put together in this wall collage it is a piece of art.

Head over to the Museum on Saturday mornings and check out the treasures from the past.
Once a week I am going to highlight a photo of the museum and maybe play some trivia, or give a little-known fact about our town.
Murdock Lions will be selling Peaches and Pears
Peach and pear boxes are approximately 20 lbs.

ELMWOOD-MURDOCK FBLA COMPETES IN
NATIONAL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE IN CHICAGO, IL

More than 360 Nebraska students, advisers, and guests recently attended the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Chicago, Illinois. Nebraska FBLA members competed June 29-July 2 in 79 competitive events. More than 12,000 FBLA members from 48 states, as well as U.S. territories and international chapters, attended the conference.

Students attended learning sessions with industry leaders, elected a national student officer team, and competed, with more than 700 middle school students and 8200 high school students competing in a variety of national events. This year’s theme was “Success Starts Here.” The National Leadership Conference is the culmination of students’ hard work over the previous academic year and an opportunity to showcase the skills and knowledge gained in the classroom.

Eighteen students from Elmwood-Murdock competed at the national conference. The students who competed were:
● Lexi Bacon, Bailey Frahm & Sela Rikli, Partnership with Business Project ● Nathan Lockman, Electronic Career Portfolio
● Jaxson Spellman, Organizational Leadership
● Henry Coleman & Rylan Kastens, Local Chapter Annual Business Report ● Henry Coleman & Riley Wilson, E-Business
● Sam Clements, Rylan Kastens, & Nate Rust - Sales Presentation
● Haylee Josoff, Jordan Vogler, & Cassidy Callaway - American Enterprise Project ● Ella Zierott, Tatum Backemeyer, & Laney Frahm - Community Service Project ● Madison Justesen & Brianna Ross - Website Design
● Cassidy Callaway - Computer Applications
The American Enterprise team of Jordan, Haylee, and Cassidy made it to the final round, where they were one of the top 12 teams out of 100 teams that competed in that event. However, they did not make “stage” which is only for the top 10 winners, so they either got 11th or 12th, which is still a big accomplishment!
The Elmwood-Murdock chapter also earned two prestigious national awards. These included the Champion Chapter and the Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit.
