20220619 Waffleman Murdock2

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Waffleman this past Sunday. Even though it was hot and he could not stay for the "supper" crowd a LOT of people came for breakfast and lunch.

I had the sausage waffle on a stick with blueberry syrup. It was delicious!

20220619 Murdock Nebraska Museum

What is fantastic is this gave a lot of people an opportunity to visit our town's museum that would not have normally visited.

Many people had never been inside and they were VERY impressed!!

20220619 Murdock Nebraska 2

The Murdock Historical Society has a reason to be proud. This is a very professional and top-notch museum that goes over the history of Murdock in Western Cass County.

It covers life in the 1800s, early 1900s, and even modern history with Mr. Dan Nowak's retirement after 37 years as the school's superintendent.

Once a week I am going to highlight a photo of the museum and maybe play some trivia, or give a little-known fact about our town.

The playground is a REALITY!!

20220619 Murdock Playground

The new playground is a reality!! The official ribbon-cutting will be on July 4th.

Thanks to a generous donation by the Murdock Historical Society, the Village of Murdock will be able to build a playground located on Main Street, just across from the old fire hall.
Thanks to all of our generous private sponsors that have made this dream a reality.

If you are still interested in donating, please also reach out to Kristi.
Again, thank you all so much- we are very close to having a playground back in Murdock.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, helped, and reached out so far to help Murdock build a playground!

These are no ordinary photos, but COLOR photographs. In the 1950s this was almost unheard of then. It was cutting-edge "technology". Thank you to Ramona Oehlerking for the video/images.

I don't know who this lovely lady is but she knows the secret to fresh-smelling sheets and pillowcases. Can anyone identify her?

It's hot and breezy and I don't know about anyone else, but I took the opportunity to wash all the blankets, sheets, throw rugs, and comforters. They dry in no time and laundry is SO much faster. Our grandparents used renewable energy such as solar and wind a LOT more than we do today.

We hung clothes out to dry, used windmills to pump water to cattle tanks in the middle of the pasture, and didn't rely on air conditioning.
