Murdock Scarecrows
The scarecrows are gracing the streets of Murdock again.
This lovely couple always makes me smile every year.
Thanks to Jackie Barnes several years ago who painted the faces. I wonder if she had someone in mind on the below scarecrow.
This reminds me that huntiung season is right around the corner.
Which reminds me about hunting and harvest safety. Harvest is in full swing and it's even more important to be careful while driving on the roads and highways. Combines and lead/follow cars are moving equipment, trucks, and combines. Let's make this a safe harvest.
Welcome to Murdock
Great news!! The town recently received a very generous anonymous donation that puts us in reach of building a park!
With our original plans, that leaves us needing about $5K to meet our budgeted cost.
At the last town board meeting, it was agreed upon to review the planned space in town as well as the playground company and installation method. We will plan for breaking ground in early Spring 2022!
This is so exciting and we can’t do this without everyone that has donated. Please continue to spread the word; thank you!!

Glimpse into Murdock History
These are no ordinary photos, but COLOR photographs. In the 1950s this was almost unheard of then. It was cutting-edge "technology". Thank you to Ramona Oehlerking for the video/images.
Many people have commented to me that Pastor Heim probably wasn't responsible for all these photos. The photos were given to Maxine Cline.
It's harvest time and in the 1950's it was not as automated as it is now. I wonder if Beverly was bringing lunch to the field in the photo.
