EMMA will have a booth set up at the Cass County Fair in the Fair Building.
All members are encouraged to include a small display of their business or organization. We suggest the display be no bigger than an 8 1/2" x 11" poster in an acrylic poster display holder. You are welcome to include business cards or flyers for people to pick up. Set up will be Tuesday, August 10th at 7:00 pm at the Fair Building.
If you can't make that you can leave your items at Bits and Pieces by Saturday, August 7th at 4:00 pm and we will make sure your items are displayed. The booth will not be manned by EMMA members because we have found that people are more likely to browse through the booth if it is unmanned.
Tear down is Saturday, August 14th at the end of the evening. Any help is appreciated!

Murdock Playground Updates!
- We were not selected for the 2021 Community Challenge grant through AARP this year.
- We were informed the E-M High School will continue land talks over the next couple of years, which rules out utilizing land up by the high school for the current Murdock playground plan.
- We would like to move forward with the current playground plan, but we still need to raise about 30K more dollars.
- If we are unable to raise those funds, we may go back to the playground designer to ask for a smaller modified design.
- We have worked with current donors to raise about $41K and we want to be respectful of those donors to move forward with a playground being installed in Fall 2021.
If you are still considering donating, please reach out to Kristi McHugh at 402-314-5957. We appreciate any donation and are thankful for the community support!
P.S. We hope to have a sign-up in Liberty Circle to create more awareness of the playground, especially for the 4th of July
You have heard of
Christmas in July. Well, it's never too early to start thinking about the very popular Holiday Craft Fair.
Glimpse into Murdock History
Continuing with our new series to the weekly news.
These are no ordinary photos, but COLOR photographs. In the 1950s this was almost unheard of then. It was cutting-edge "technology". Thank you to Ramona Oehlerking for the video/images.
Many people have commented to me that Pastor Heim probably wasn't responsible for all these photos. Seems Ed Niemeyer (from the previous photo series) also took photos during this era. The photos were given to Maxine Cline.
Hello Mrs. Rikli! This photo looks like it was taken during silage season. Which is usually done during August and the heat of the summer. But this didn't discourage Dorothy from greeting the Pastor with a smile.
We think it is hot now, but at least our farmers have air-conditioned cabs and we can retreat into our central air-conditioned homes. Based on the apron Dorothy is wearing she was probably cooking lunch in the kitchen to bring out to the field.
Mystery Girl
So let's try again...does anyone know Carol Swartz? Could this be her?
A little bird said it's her. If so I bet she would love to see this photo. I love her smile.
