Murdock 4th of July
Last of the 4th of July series for the year.

Take a look at the photos here taken by Jennifer (Hromanik) Koon. It's like old home week during
the 4th of July parade.
Families get together, friends reconnect and a good time is had by all.
Murdock Playground Updates!
- We were not selected for the 2021 Community Challenge grant through AARP this year.
- We were informed the E-M High School will continue land talks over the next couple of years, which rules out utilizing land up by the high school for the current Murdock playground plan.
- We would like to move forward with the current playground plan, but we still need to raise about 30K more dollars.
- If we are unable to raise those funds, we may go back to the playground designer to ask for a smaller modified design.
- We have worked with current donors to raise about $41K and we want to be respectful of those donors to move forward with a playground being installed in Fall 2021.
If you are still considering donating, please reach out to Kristi McHugh at 402-314-5957. We appreciate any donation and are thankful for the community support!
P.S. We hope to have a sign-up in Liberty Circle to create more awareness of the playground, especially for the 4th of July
You have heard of
Christmas in July. Well, it's never too early to start thinking about the very popular Holiday Craft Fair.
Glimpse into Murdock History
Continuing with our new series to the weekly news.
These are no ordinary photos, but COLOR photographs. In the 1950s this was almost unheard of then. It was cutting-edge "technology". Thank you to Ramona Oehlerking for the video/images.
Many people have commented to me that Pastor Heim probably wasn't responsible for all these photos. Seems Ed Niemeyer (from the previous photo series) also took photos during this era. The photos were given to Maxine Cline.
Someone is pretty proud of some canned good here. Don't know if they are peaches, apricots, or just what they are. The lady on the right looks familiar. Like I know her or something. But not sure of the names here. Someone help me out.
Thank you to several people who identified Elmer Miller and his wife Rosalyn Miller Vanderford is the beauty on the right.
Email me at

I do believe we have an identification of this lovely lady.
Does anyone recognize her as Marlene Murdoch Rikli?

Every week I am getting emails at
