Uncovered Murdock History

It appears that this is John Guelstorffs Dad with the wagon. Anyone know who the boy on the rocking horse? I love looking at these photos and trying to pick out the littlest details of life back then. The two teddy bears are precious. I also love the toy airplane in the foreground.

John's Grandpa (Ed) was an avid photographer. He would take photos of any event that went on around Murdock. From family reunions to everyday happenings. When he passed his grandson (John E Guelstorff III) inherited his camera along with his photo processing equipment and all of his negatives. Recently he found some undeveloped negatives of Murdock

Lenten Mid Week Services

Evening Prayer March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1 - 7:00 pm

The focus will be on the Passion of Our Lord drawn from the four gospels.

Give to Others During Lent

Trinity Lutheran Murdock Sunday school invites you to donate items to help out the local food bank.

The Lenten season is a great time to give back to the community. Donation boxes will be in the Fellowship Hall. Items will be delivered to the Elmwood Foodbank which serves the Cass County area.

Items needed: Laundry detergent, paper products, baggies, toilet paper, soap, toothpaste, deodorant. cash donations are also welcome to help with rent or purchase of meat/fresh veggies and fruit.

If we collect 400 items, the board will purchase donuts to enjoy during a special Sunday School.

Murdock Volunteer Fire Dept Pancake Breakfast

March 29, 2020

8:00 am - 1:00 pm

Come join us for another great breakfast!!

We will have all you can eat pancakes, sausage, and scrambled eggs! We will have several great prizes and will be selling raffle tickets that can be bought in advance from anyone in our department, or purchased at the door when you come for breakfast!

This is a free-will donation event, so take a morning off from cooking and bring the family down before church, after church or just to get out of the house!

Three FBLA students place in top 5 at Midland College Business Competition

On Tuesday, March 3, fifteen FBLA students attended the Midland College Business Competition. Students had the chance to compete with fifteen other schools and further prepare for the upcoming state leadership competition. Congratulations to the following students for receiving Top Five honors at Midland:

This week our Student of the Week Winner is Noah Willey. He is a senior at Elmwood Murdock High School. His activities include football, basketball, track, FBLA, and SkillsUSA. He is the son of Randy and Angie Willey.

He was nominated for these reasons:
- He is a great leader on and off the court
- He has a friendly and welcoming smile
- He is polite and respectful
- He is an extremely hard worker

The Cass County Extension Office has copies of the 2019 Farmer’s Tax Guide. It’s a 92-page booklet for use in preparing 2019 returns. These tax guides are free. Need one? Stop by the Extension office, open 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
