It's Cass County Fair Week!

The 2019 Cass County Fair is now over and it was better than ever. A fresh new look to the Open Class building, new food vendors and even more people than ever enjoyed the parade, Bull riding, and the Figure 8 Races.

Congratulation to Sharon Highfield for 1st and 2nd place in the Special Quilt Block competition. Ramona Oehlerking won 3rd place. Next year these blocks will be put together into a quilt and offered for the Quilt raffle.

Many local residents won Championship and purple ribbons for their entries. For the next couple of weeks, I will post photos of the fair including videos of the parade. If you live far away didn't make it to the Cass County Fair this year then enjoy the sights and the sounds of the fair.

Congratulations to Azlee Haertel on her New York City Trip collage. What a great experience and she did excellent in communicating the trip. Makes me want to take a trip to New York City.

The Elmwood-Murdock Merchants Association had a booth at the fair and showcased businesses, activities and what makes Elmwood-Murdock great.

Did you know there isn't an age limit to enter exhibits at the fair? 4-H Clover Kids, who are under the age of 8 can still show off their accomplishments of the year. Looks like Bo Backemyer got a new BB gun this year.

Do you remember when the Elmwood-Murdock boys basketball team won the State Championship?

20190704 132417 basketballchamps Learn more about the high school sports teams and their accomplishments at the Museum.

Open Saturday afternoons during the summer and the first Sunday afternoon of the month. Take the kids, there is so much to see and learn.

Where is it?

Across from the bank, the white building on the corner.

Every week I will have a photo from the museum, did you know we had an active railroad going through town, a general store, a barber and much more?

People are LOOKING for Sweet Corn!!

Do you have sweet corn? Bring it to the Elmwood park Saturday morning to the Farmers market.

Is your garden producing an overabundance of sweet corn, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes or anything else?

Do you like baking cinnamon rolls, cookies, or making crafts?

Do you have honey, eggs, or even make jelly, wine or seasoning dip mixes or soup mixes?

Bring them to the Elmwood Farmers market on Saturday mornings.

You don't need anything fancy. Heck, you don't even need a table. Just bring a chair to sit.

We have regulars who show up every week. People are asking for tomatoes, sweet corn, and other produce
