The Murdock Lions club would once again thank everyone who has supported us in the last year. It was a very successful year of fundraising and accomplishing our goals. In November of each year, we split our funds into several projects and donate money to organizations that need our help.

This year we donated money to the Murdock Pride committee (M.I.T), Murdock Fire Dept., and the Cass Country Food Bank in Elmwood. We also support the DARE program in our school and we provide eye testing in the elementary school each year with the very best equipment. This project has been very much appreciated by the school administrators.
Other outside donations include the Weeping Water Legion (color guard), Lions Eyesight program, Lions International, and this year a donation to a service dog training facility in Ohio.
The Lions will also continue to provide three scholarships to E-M graduates who have shown the willingness to volunteer and help with community projects.
This year we also would like to thank the many Weeping Water residents who purchased peaches. We sold 110 boxes which helped us to be able to increase our donations.
We were saddened this year with the deaths of two of our long-standing members. The club is small but might. Please consider becoming a Lions member. We meet once a month (3rd Monday) and have two major activities each year, the Fourth of July lunch stand and selling of the peaches.
Once again, thank you to all who have supported us!
Without community participation, Murdock would wither away and die. We are vibrant and many in Cass County recognize this. It wouldn't be possible without the thousands of hours every year from volunteers.
Next week I'm going to provide a list of where you can volunteer in Murdock, if you have ideas please send them to

Did you know that the Elmwood Public Library has a nice selection of Large Print books available?
We also receive a rotating collection of Large Prints on a monthly basis from the Morton-James Public Library in Nebraska City.

If you have a specific topic of interest or favorite author that you would like to see made available via Large Print books, please let one of our library staff know! We can specifically request these materials for you.
Also, with the help of the Nebraska Library Commission, your Elmwood library can obtain free audiobooks and Braille materials for those with a visual or physical condition, or a reading disability which limits the use of regular print.
Elmwood Public Library is working hard to meet the needs of our visually impaired patrons.
2019 KCCB Membership Drive
We appreciate the financial support from all of you who have made donations to KCCB. Every dollar donated helps maintain our programs here in Cass County, like our 5th Grade Youth Environmental Fair (shown above).
As funding from NDEQ has greatly decreased, we look to our local members and donors to help sustain our programs. Help make 2019 our biggest membership drive ever. Click on the "DONATE NOW" button or simply mail a check to us at 513 Vine St., Louisville, NE 68037. Your donation is tax deductible.
