Murdock Nebraska News
Merry Christmas Everyone!!
I hope your Christmas week brings you family, friends, and plenty or joy and festivities. May the peace of the season wash over you and keep you safe.
Here is hoping you eat lots of Christmas cookies and candy...AND NOT feel guilty about it at all!
This week is a little abbreviated. Many activities on Friday and Saturday were canceled due to the cold weather, icy roads, and snow.
Remember to send me updates. I need Volleyball news, school news and photos of Christmas lights! Remember news is news, no matter how small. Email your church announcements, community, business and school news to
Tracking Santa!!!
I'm sure it was disappointing to many that Santa didn't make it to the Firehall on Saturday.
It wasn't that Santa couldn't get there, he does have a sleigh, and he does live in the North Pole.
Snow and ice is not a problem for Santa and his reindeer.
But Santa didn't want parents and children getting out in bad weather and risk getting hurt.
Rest assured, he knows if you've been bad or good, and he's gotten your letters.
I have the latest on how to track Santa as he delivers his presents to all good little boys and girls. NORAD is still the best method as the North American Aerospace Defense Command can track his sleigh and reindeer in the sky.
If you have kids who still believe, and doesn't everyone want to believe, head over to their website.
Christmas Trees Adorn Murdock
It just occurred to me that Christmas Tree Lane in Murdock would be a great location for family photos. If there are any photographers reading this head over to Murdock for Christmas family photos.

This past Sunday the children of Trinity Lutheran church had their last Christmas Eve program practice.

The youth group sold homemade Christmas cookies for their annual fundraiser. Why bake your own cookies when you can get gorgeous ones without messing up your kitchen?

Last week for Advent services. If you have never visited Trinity Lutheran now is the perfect time. Let the wonder of the Christmas season inspire you. Let the joy of little children and their voices remind you that Jesus Christ was born for you.

Living Nativity
NEW Tradition for the Elmwood-Murdock Area
Living Nativity at 3B Farms (Buell Farm)

More than 150 people visited the Living Nativity at 3B Farms (which stands for Beull, Barns, and Blessings) to tour the old barn turned into a living Christmas testimony.
Sondra Buell definitely had a calling when she and her husband moved back to his parents' farm a few years ago. Through many blessings, they were given two donkeys with the promise these donkeys would one day represent Mary's ride into Bethlehem in their living Nativity.
Visitors were given a tour through the barn and viewed sheep, cattle, goats and even a rooster. People from miles around heard about Sondra's vision and asked to volunteer. 4-H groups and families donated the sheep and the cattle for the manger scene.
Put this on your calendar next year. It's a great annual event to make into a tradition.
Elmwood-Murdock School News
Last week was junior high/high school Winter Program. Once again the band and choir, led by Mr. Hanson and Mrs. Colbert proved what talent we have in our area. The gymnasium was packed.
Mr. Hanson and Mrs. Colbert put together a professional level concert and the level of student talent succeeded in putting everyone in the Christmas and Holiday spirit.
Jingle Bells Forever
Can't leave off the band. Here is the traditional Jingle Bells Forever played by the Elmwood-Murdock high school band.
If you have photos of any of the games, pep rallys, road trips, cheering sections or ANYTHING school related please send it to me on

Murdock Historical Museum
Hi everyone! Now that the weather has turned colder, the museum sees a drop in visitors.
However, we still have utilities to pay through the cold winter months. Constant temperature and humidity helps to preserve the items n the museum.
Consider a year-end donation to the Murdock historical society. The MHS is a 501c3 non profit Nebraska corporation.
Contributions may be deducted for tax purposes.
Send contributions to: PO Box 102 Murdock, 68407
Thanks, and Merry Christmas!
