The Lofte Community Theatre is proud to announce that it will be holding its annual free Veterans Day concert on Sunday, November 8 at 2pm.  Our guest musicians are the members of the Southeast Nebraska Community Band.

The SNCB is made up of individuals from eleven different counties, some of whom drive 70 miles one-way to band practice.  Some have their roots playing with military bands in the Air Force or Army.  Others are former music teachers, while yet others have a love of their high school trombone and never put it away.  This is a group of amazingly talented individuals dedicated to sharing their talent and love of great music.

The hour-long concert will feature some of your most favorite patriotic tunes and highlight a special opportunity for former and active servicemen and women to be saluted by their branch’s anthem.

Bring the kids.  Bring grandma and grandpa too.  This is an inspiring event best enjoyed with a group of friends!

Proud Parent Moment

We had quite an honor last weekend.  Vince and I were invited to escort our daughter, Millie, in the Homecoming procession during halftime at Peru State College.  She was selected to serve on the Homecoming Court.  We got to see the Homecoming Parade and have lunch on the quad.  She was invited to join the ribbon cutting ceremony to dedicate the new road leading into Peru.  Very special!

Millie is a senior at Peru State majoring in Management and Marketing with a minor in Computer and Management Information System.  She is a 2011 graduate of Elmwood Murdock.

We are so proud of Millie and her accomplishments.  It was fun to see that we were not the only people from Elmwood there!
