Mrs. Glanz stopped and helped the girls plan some strategy for getting candy. Duane's Auto Repair makes another appearance in the Murdock parade. This was also in the parade for the centennial, 25 years ago. I think he is clean by now!

The golf cart wasn't running but they were pushing it too fast to catch what it was for; Murdock Moderns; Trinity Lutheran Church Annual Consignment Auction will be the last Saturday in January...start planning now!!

More kids and flags; That kid was running so fast I didn't even see him until I looked at the pictures...I call him Flash; The Mills family has been in the Murdock area for 129 years...longer than Murdock has been here!

Time for the fire trucks and rescue vehicles!! Kathleen Althouse rode along with Carl.

Ken Tiedeman walked along tossing candy to keep the kids safe.

Nathan and Rebecca Brettmann, Miki Bruns, and Theresa Brown passed out candy; Weeping Water sent some entries to the parade, too.

Cooling off the crowd! Tifany Vogt rode along with Heath.

Free chilled watermelon is always a favorite after the parade. The petting zoo was a hit, too. The kids always love the bounce house.

People are lining up for the lunch at the fire station.

Lindsay Backemeyer carried watermelon; that is a fun way to get around; The line for food; and an aircraft was spying on all the fun.

There were a lot of pretty planters all over town decorated very festively. Grand Marshal, Halley Mills, waving to the crowd.

The Murdock Museum Project is almost finished. Thanks to some rainy days it wasn't completed by the fourth of July but very close. Rebecca Van Ornam, along with her assistant Pam Conyers-Hinson have been working very steady to get the mural this far. Rebecca's husband, Joseph and her daughter, Fern.

These two little girls were too cute not to include. Very sweet!

Murdock Car Show

Aaron and Rick Clements tell me this pretty yellow car belongs to Aaron's wife, Alicia. They just polished it up and were showing it off for her. How sweet!

My guys, Vince and his son, Aarin, found an old friend at the car show. Jess Podrazo from Louisville, and his son, Louie brought Jess's wife's car to show off. Main Street in Murdock was hopping with classic cars.

These ladies were selling shirts to help people remember the day. More cars.

Chealy Kucera says she will have a car like this someday. The red car belongs to Kelly Podrazo. More cool cars!

BJ Burrows Featured in Top Agent Magazine
BJ Burrows, with Nebraska Realty and Burrows Tracts, of Elmwood, was featured on the cover of Top Agent Magazine. BJ opened his agency in Elmwood just a few years ago and has already taken the area by storm. BJ is unique in that he is a member of two MLS systems for Omaha and Lincoln. This enables him to reach a wider area for marketing homes. BJ's wife, Kristy has a photography business here in Elmwood called Impulsive Works and is also a marketing expert. BJ is a member of the Elmwood Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Elmwood Murdock Merchants Association, and volunteers with the schools. We are very lucky to have BJ and Kristy in Elmwood. Auditions for ‘Proof’ at Lofte Community Theatre
The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley will be holding open auditions for the award-winning play, ‘Proof’ on July 20 and 21 at 7pm. Written by David Auburn, this play won both the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award in 2001.
Artistic Director Kevin Colbert is looking for two women and two men to bring this story to life. Catherine is the brilliant daughter of an esteemed mathematician who has just died after a prolonged mental illness. One of the professor’s students has discovered a wealth of cutting-edge calculations and assumes they are the work of his late mentor. Can Catherine provide proof that the work is hers, and that she’s not mentally ill like her father?
Rehearsals will begin in late July. Production dates for the play are August 29-30, September 3-6 and 11-13. Actors planning to audition should bring a list of possible schedule conflicts and be prepared to perform cold readings from the script.
