The Elmwood-Murdock Public School has a vacancy for a Kitchen Assistant at the Murdock School site. Perspective employees should have knowledge of quantity food preparation, understanding of basic nutrition, basic math skills and a willingness to learn ordering system and menu planning. “Messiah” Opens Lofte’s 39th Season
The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces that on Saturday, May 23 it will open its 39th season with the family dramedy, “Messiah on the Frigidaire.” Written by John Culbertson, “Messiah” takes place in the small town of Elroy, South Carolina. Lou Ann Hightower and her husband Dwayne find what seems to be the image of Jesus appearing on an outdoor refrigerator. When the appearance makes front page news, their little trailer park soon becomes a mecca of communion and commerce. Kevin Colbert directs the show with Brenna Thompson of Lincoln playing Lou Ann and Scott Seelhoff of Fremont playing her husband Dwayne. Others in the cast include Chelsea Lulla of Ashland, Michael Magrans and Dan Ryberg of Omaha, Jestin Jones of Lincoln, Denise Schroeder of Gretna and Will Jones of Manley. Production dates for the show are May 23, 24, 28-31 and June 5-7. Curtain times are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. Ticket prices are $19. Those interested can still purchase a season pass for all five of the Lofte’s shows this year for only $75. The Lofte is located just east of the intersection of Highways 1 and 50 in Cass County. Reservations can be made by calling the box office at (402) 234-2553.

‘Godspell’ Auditions at Lofte Community Theatre
The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces that it will be holding open auditions for the musical, “Godspell” on June 1, 2, and 3 at 7pm. “Godspell” is a fun, modern retelling of the Gospel According to Matthew. Popular songs include, “Day by Day,” and “Prepare Ye.” This is a production that has a flexible cast size. Artistic Director Kevin Colbert is looking for men and women ages 16-40. Those interested in auditioning should bring a prepared song of no more than one minute in length and come dressed to dance. You should also bring a list of possible schedule conflicts. Auditions will last approximately 1-2 hours depending upon the number of people participating. Rehearsals for the production will begin mid-June. Production dates are July 17-19, 23-26, 31 and August 1, 2. Those with questions about the production or the audition process may contact Kevin Colbert at (402) 234-2553.
