Lunch at the Elmwood Community Center
If you remember from last week I had made plans to go to the Elmwood Community Center for lunch on Friday. What a great time I had! It was a small crowd that day but the conversation was filled with a wide variety of topics. I met Ashley who was the cook for the day. She told me that her dad grew up in Elmwood but her family moved to Minnesota when she was five. She has recently moved back to the area and is enjoying her job at the Elmwood Community Center. She learned her cooking skills from her grandma and also from Helen Baker, the other cook at the community center. Helen came to lunch, too, and you can tell that the two ladies get along really well with the lunch crowd. There was a lot of good natured teasing among the group. Pastor Earlin Shanno was behind quite a bit of that teasing, too. Ashley and Helen boxed up several meals for delivery and were picked up about noon to be taken to their hungry owners.
Check out the menus below and see if you have time to stop in and have lunch sometime. A home cooked meal is even more tasty when you don't have to cook it!

Ashley was boxing up the To Go orders.
Just in time for pick up and delivery!
The crowd was getting restless waiting for lunch!

The dessert table had scrumptious treats and I didn't even know that lunch included dessert!

The community center is always decorated for the holidays.

The table was set right down to the placemats.

Friday's crew was a hungry lot and Ashley fed us well!
