 If you are a parent of a high school kid you may be wondering...what's next?  High school flies by so quickly and before you know if you have missed out on some very important informational meetings designed to prepare you for your "child" going to college.  Let me tell you...PAY ATTENTION!!!!  Don't wait until they are seniors to start listening.  It will be too late. There is a Parent's Night Workshop at Southeast Community College that will help you! 

The financial aid staff at Southeast Community College will be hosting a Parent’s Night workshop on all three Southeast Community College campuses.  The intent of this workshop is to share information that will help parents and students understand many aspects of financial aid: completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), Expected Family Contribution (EFC) amounts, finding scholarships and grants, and other financial aid information.  This workshop would be a great asset to parents and students who are new to the financial aid process, and have questions about how the financial aid process works.  The workshop time/locations are:

                        September 11, 2014         5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.       Beatrice Campus, Kennedy 334 Conference Room            September 18, 2014         6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.       Lincoln Campus, Room U104, 106

The Murray Presbyterian Deacons, under the name of "Mighty Murray Small Church", are raising funds to be donated to the Lori Williams family of Murray, NE.  Lori was paralyzed due to an accident several months ago and now her family is under mounting financial stress.  Lori's family  will receive 20% of orders starting August 18 through October 2, 2014  and, after October 2, will receive 5% for one year.
