"Thank You" to the donors at the blood drive in Elmwood on Monday, September 9th.  The goal of 25 pints was achieved.  Co-ordinators for this Red Cross Drive appreciated every person who came to donate, and Barbara Rush who furnished sandwiches and home-made cookies for the Canteen.  She represented St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Kimmy2

In case you don't recognize Kimmy she is Big Dan's granddaughter.  Dan Rice and his wife, Karen, have been in Elmwood for about ten years or more.  If you have ever needed tires, body work, or your car worked on you may have stopped into his shop.  For a long time they also had items for sale and movies to rent. Their grandchildren may not live in Elmwood but they have certainly spent a lot of time here.  We hope you can come out and support Kimmy in her fight against Aplastic Anemia.  Kimmy is a lively 11 year old who is looking forward to putting this time in her life behind her.  She is currently at Children's Hospital undergoing treatment very similar to a cancer treatment.  She lost her hair last week and has had many people join her in the bald look.  She has two brothers and a sister who are anxiously waiting for her to come home.  Please come out and have some fun and show Kimmy that she has an army of support in her battle for her life.
