Tickets go on sale Monday, November 5, 2012
The Elmwood-Murdock Booster Club proudly presents a Holiday Parade of Homes on Saturday, November 24, 2012. The homes on display are Lindsay and Jeff Backemeyer, Kris and Mike Boston, Jodi and Rob Cooper, Susan and Randy Marlatt, Carae and Johnny Oehlerking, Judeen and Ross Rikli. Also included on the tour are St. Mary’s Catholic Church and 4th Street Market.
People are encouraged to purchase their tickets before the event. Then bring your tickets and guide, listing all the homes with map and descriptions of the homes to each stop. An FBLA student will greet you at the door and punch your tickets. We ask that all participants remove their shoes or wear the disposable shoe covers provided at the door. The homeowners will be present to welcome you and answer questions. The homes are open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. so can be visited at your leisure and no appointment is necessary. Start your tour at any of the homes and finish up at St. Mary’s Catholic church with coffee and dessert (FREE WILL DONATION) from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Lastly stop at 4th Street Market and put your ticket in for the raffle, or do some shopping for your holiday decorating ideas. 4th Street Market will be open all day until 5:30 p.m. Take your time and enjoy the tour! Some people will want to visit all the homes, others just the locations that interest them most.
Advanced Tickets are $10.00 for adults (ages 10 and up) and children ages 9 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at 4th Street Market, Bits and Pieces, Corn Growers State Bank, American Exchange Bank, Elmwood Convenience Store, and Elementary and High School Main offices or contact Cyndi Dwyer. Day of the Event tickets are $12.00. See posters for more details.

Here's an excerpt from an article in the Lincoln Journal Star this week. It was an interview with Husker wide receiver coach Rich Fisher.
* You may not know the name, but Sam Burtch was among the 70 on Nebraska's travel roster Saturday against Michigan State.
With some key injuries to players like Allen and Tyler Wullenwaber, the redshirt freshman receiver from Elmwood-Murdock was called on to make the trip to East Lansing.
Pretty good achievement for the young walk on.
"Sam's a guy that obviously I like a lot," Fisher said. "In a room full of a lot of talented kids, I know he probably doesn't get talked about a lot. He's helped out on scout team ... but he's a kid that I feel like can play here, is going to end up playing here. I wouldn't have taken him here if not.
"He's a sharp guy, he's smart, he understands what's going on. And hopefully he'll get an opportunity down the road to contribute."

Elmwood Murdock KNIGHTLY NEWS:
Whoot Woo! Good News from Superintendent Dan Novak:
During the week of October 22, 2012, Governor Heineman released to the media the rankings of the top five schools on Nebraska Statewide Testing (NeSA) in the areas of Math, Science, Writing and Reading. Schools were ranked according to the Nebraska School Activities Association classifications which are used for athletics. For the purpose of classification, Elmwood-Murdock is a Class C2 school. I am proud to report Elmwood-Murdock finished 2nd in Science and 4th in Writing of all the Class C2 schools in the State of Nebraska. Elmwood-Murdock is the only ECNC Conference and Cass County School to finish in the top five in two categories of any schools in the conference or county. Elmwood-Murdock is the only school to finish in the top five in writing in Class C2 each of the three years in which assessment results were released. We are very proud of our educational program and are extremely appreciative of the time and effort invested by students and staff in achieving these goals.
