FAN OF THE WEEK September 30
The Elmwood Murdock Spirit Squad Fan of the Week is a new program designed to honor those fans who go above and beyond in showing their spirit and/or giving their time and talents to support EM programs. Co-sponsors of the Fan of the Week are Corn Growers State Bank, Heartland Flooring Center, Moss Trucking and Excavating/Moss Scrap Iron and Spohr's Landscaping and Consulting. This week we honored two fans of the week, one adult and one student.
The first fan of the week is Cyndi Dwyer. Cyndi is currently the Booster Club president. Although she teaches in Lincoln, she spends many hours supporting our students and activities here at Elmwood-Murdock including helping with pep rallies and organizing meals and events. Prior to the organization of this year’s squad, she helped keep a number of the important team support activities going. She is frequently one of the loudest supporters at games, cheering on our teams even when the situation is challenging. We thank her for her endless support and honor her as our first Fan of the Week.
Our second fan of the week is Elmwood-Murdock Senior, Lizzy Pegler. As many know, Lizzy is very musically talented but she attends all athletic events to support our teams. She is consistently in the front row, standing and cheering along with every cheer, even going so far as to ask to borrow our cheer list so she can learn them and cheer louder. She always smiles and her support strengthens our squad so we honor her as our Student Fan of the Week. Thanks Lizzy—we love you!
The Fans of the Week receive a limited edition t-shirt and a premium reserved parking spot at the next home game.

This week's Fan of the Week is Myrna Bornemeier. Myrna has been a supporter of the Spirit Squad from the beginning; frequently cheering, dancing a boogy or whatever else asked of our fans to help cheer on our teams. She yells strong, smiles back and gives the Spirit Squad a supportive audience which makes their job both easier and more fun. Myrna is also involved in many other ways at the school, helping students who are struggling with math, leading area youth groups, helping with meals and a variety of other "behind the scenes" activities. Thanks Myrna for being a super fan and for all that you do to support programming at Elmwood-Murdock. Myrna will receive a limited edition Fan of the Week t-shirt and will have a special designated parking spot at the next home game. Congratulations Myrna, you are awesome!

Hank's ribs were a hot item at the ball game. It was a fund raiser for post prom. Kari Laughlin and Julie Schmale were selling certificates for the ribs.

Notice the ribs. They were awesome!

DON'T DRESS FOR DINNER at the Lofte
The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces the opening of its fall farce, "Don't Dress For Dinner," on Friday, October 15. The fast-paced script by Robin Hawdon sees Bernard carefully preparing a romantic weekend in the country with his mistress. His wife is off to visit her mother, a gourmet chef has been hired to cater the evening and Bernard's friend will provide the alibi. What could possibly go wrong? As is in every scripted farce, the audience is soon witness to a combination of misunderstandings, fibs and impossible situations. Lofte Artistic Director Kevin Colbert produced this show during Mahoney State Park's winter season several years ago where it still holds the record for highest attendance.
Kevin Colbert both directs and plays the lead in the Lofte production. The play also stars Shari Hoelker and Doug Rothgeb of Omaha, Renae Koehler of Firth, Kevin Holdorf of Manley and newcomer Toni Santee of Plattsmouth. Production dates are October 15-16, 21-23 and 27-30. Thursday through Saturday curtain times are 7:30pm. Sunday shows are 2pm matinees. General Admission tickets are $17 and can be purchased either online at wwww.Lofte.com or by calling the box office (402) 234-2553.
The Lofte is holding a special fundraising event in conjunction with this production. From October 27-30, audience members will have the opportunity to come early and have a dinner theater experience right on stage! A cordon bleu menu has been specifically designed to match the gourmet meal in "Don't Dress For Dinner." The cost is $25 in addition to the show ticket and advance reservations are required. Those who are interested should call the box office with questions.
Homecoming night is always exciting. And it is even sweeter when the boy win the football game. That is just what happened Friday night. Elmwood Murdock beat the Louisville Lions 55 to 0.
