Zion_Church

This is a picture of Zion Evangelical Church, more commonly referred to as Callahan Church.  It was located on the NorthWest corner of 286th st and Bluff Road.  The cemetery still exists.  This picture was taken in the early 1900’s, as there are many horse drawn buggies and no automobiles.  The circular stained glass window of Jesus praying from this church is now located in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Murdock.

Special Performance at the Lofte

The Lofte Community Theatre's cutting of the full-length play, "Leaving Iowa," recently won top awards at the Nebraska Association of Community Theaters competition and will be advancing to the Regional Competition being held in Salina, KS April 27-May 1.  To help offset travel costs, the cast and crew invite you to special public performance on Tuesday, April 26th at 7:30pm.  The Lofte will be collecting a Free Will Donation and all proceeds will be designated for Region V expenses.  No advance reservations are necessary and the performance is open to the general public.
The performance will last approximately one hour and there is no intermission.  "Leaving Iowa" will be the Lofte's season opener and the full-length play will run May 28-June 12.  The portion being performed on Tuesday, April 26th is a competitive cutting.  If you cannot attend the free will performance, but still wish to contribute to the Lofte team, please contact the Lofte's box office at (402) 234-2553.

Post Prom Party 2011

PP_food

The most important feature of post prom...the food...and it was awesome!  Lots of sandwiches and munchies and candy and fruit.

PP_Jake_and_Naomi

The minute to win it games were the hit of the night!  Jake Kuhlmann and his friend, Naomi, play the Stack a Cup game.

PP_Kalee_Cole

Kalee Brewer and Cole Dettmann take a break.

PP_Lauren

PP_Luke_E

Luke Ervin plays the same game.

PP_Prizes

The Post Prom Party Committee worked hard to raise over $13,000 to fund the party, transportation, enteratainment, food, prizes, and other incidentals.  Each junior and senior went home with a nice prize.  Millie Anderson (whom we all know and love)  won the grand prize, a 22 inch flat screen TV.

PP_Cotton

Zach Zobel volunteered to play this game...he smeared vaseline on the end of his nose, dipped his face into a bowl of cotton balls until one stuck and then transferred it to a bowl 12 feet away.

PP_Cotton_drop

He had to shake his head until it fell off.  And he had to see how many he could do in a minute.

PP_Deb_Z

Post prom parent, Deb Zobel, tries out the Stack a Cup game.

PP_Pool

Cole Dettmann and Josh Bogatz play a game of pool.

PP_WALL_C

David Hromanik and Eli Philson race to the top of the wall.

A big thanks to all the parents who worked so hard to make the Post Prom Party a lot of fun.  From the shopping, the planning, the food prep, the fundraisers, and the supervising of the event everyone made it a great party.  And thanks to everyone who contributed to the party and to the fundraisers.  The kids had a great time!

Looking for walkers!!! Or sponsors!

There will be free admission to the park, free parking, free breakfast (Krispy Kreme & Starbucks) and lunch and for the kiddos there is a big top tent full of carnival games to play, the entertainment after the walk will be the String Beans Band (kids band). The lunch being provided I have been told is Arby's, also Blue Bunny will be there with ice cream for a cool treat and that is just a start.
Dannielle was born at 28 weeks...she weighed 1lb 13oz and 14" long. Today Dannielle weighs 13lbs and 23" long. She has come along way thanks to the March of Dimes and their research.
Thanks!
