Murdock Historical Tidbit
This airplane landed east of Murdock in the 1920’s, and offered rides to the public. One young man saved up his money, $25, and took his girlfriend for their first plane ride. After they landed, she left and didn’t thank him. Turned out that she got so scared on the ride that she wet her pants!

Reverend Brent Kuhlman and his wife, Robin, welcome guests to the open house for the new fellowship hall at the Trinity Lutheran Church on Church Road. The Trinity Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Lutheran Chruch Missouri Synod. She was established in 1892. On June 27th, 2010 they broke ground on the new fellowhip hall that includes bathrooms and a kitchen. For more information about the Trinity Lutheran Church check out their website by clicking here!
Tea and cookies were offered to the guests along with many smiles. 
The fellowship hall adds space and charm to the church. The potluck on Sunday filled the hall. Later that day the open house drew many guests.
Spring Carnival Time!
The Elmwood Murdock Spring Carnaval was a big hit again this year. As always the cake walk proved to have a big draw. The best part was the cake decorating contest. People were very creative! For more pictures of the carnival check out the Elmwood Newsletter.
There was a cake decorating contest prior to the cake walk which drew a lot of entries.
Whitney Koehn made one of the cakes in the contest. And won!

Annie Auditions
The Lofte Community Theatre will be holding auditions for its summer musical, "Annie" at 2pm and 7p
m on Sunday, May 8, and 7pm on Monday, May 9. There are six roles available for girls ages 7-13. It is suggested that children come to the Sunday afternoon audition session. There are roles for eight men and eight women of various ages. A complete cast list can be found on the Lofte website, www.Lofte.com.
The production will be directed by Kevin Colbert. Those who audition should bring a prepared song of no more than one minute in length. An accompanist is provided. Dress comfortably and wear appropriate shoes for dancing. If necessary, callbacks will be held between May 10 and May 12. Rehearsals will begin as early as June 6. Production dates for the play are July 22-August 7.
