Cass County Fair News
Cass County Fair Auction Supporters, (family, friends, businesses, alumni) are invited to come out to show support for the 4-Hers in Cass County. The cake auction, starting at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday evening August 10, at the open air auditorium on the Cass County fairgrounds provides an opportunity to purchase fancy or decorated cakes, pies, and/or specialty breads baked and decorated by 4-H members. The proceeds of this event will be divided between the participating 4-Her and the Cass County 4-H Council. 4-H Council funds raised at this event help sponsor activities for 4-H members throughout the year. Auction supporters are invited to stay for the Fashion Show/Awards program following the auction. A Sneak Peek and Refreshments will be held for everyone at the 4-H Building following this event.
Nebraska 4-H FAIRPORT (formerly 4-H Cyberfair) is coming to the Cass County Fair! Jeremiah Bolin, former Cass County 4-Her, will facilitate this interactive exhibition with hands on activities, a 4-H Shooting Sports Laser Shot Range, and a 4-H FAIRPORT passport activity. Come and see what it is all about! 4-H FAIRPORT will be featured in the 4-H Building Friday, August 13, and Saturday, August 14, in the afternoon and evening.
108 Colene Shrader Memorial Kidz for Kwiltz, part of the county wide Care & Share community service project, (Celebrating 108 Years of 4-H) will be on display in the 4-H Building during the Cass County Fair August 10 – 14. All kwiltz will be available for bids at silent auction during this time. Ten kwiltz (bidders’ choice) will go to the highest bidders at the close of the auction at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, August 14. The remaining ninety-eight kwiltz will be donated to emergency services or 4-Hers’ choice of recipient with the rest of the Care & Share items. Proceeds from this auction will help fund the 2011 Care & Share project.
