Murdock Daisy Scout Sells Cookies!
This is Shayna Mathes first year of selling Girl Scout Cookies. And it was her lucky year! Sheriff Bill Brueggeman was looking for a Girl Scout selling cookies and was told about Shayna. Sheriff Bill called Shayna and asked if she was selling cookies. She gave him the sales pitch and he was very impressed. So impressed that he placed an order for 300 boxes! He in turn will sell them through the store at the jail and the inmates can purchase them. He funded the order with proceeds from the store. Shayna received a check for $1500 for the cookies. I wonder if she had the highest sales in the troop? Good job, Shayna! And thanks, Sheriff Bill!

| Description: | On April 10th, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Otoe County Genealogical Society will host its 1st Annual Otoe County Rural Schools Reunion at Harmony School at 6265 'Q' Road, which is located 8 miles south of Nebraska City on Highway 75, and ½ mile west on ‘Q’ road. Harmony School is a rural schoolhouse that was built in 1879, and was closed in 1997. This reunion will include a coffee social and tour of the 130-year old rural schoolhouse. In addition, it will also give visitors a chance to assist our society in identifying numerous unidentified rural schoolhouse photographs from several different school districts throughout the county. The society has come into possession of these prized photographs through their Otoe County Courthouse Clean-up Project, in which these photographs were donated to the society by the Otoe County Clerk’s office, and through other generous donations as well. So please come join us at Harmony School and help us pay tribute to the outstanding contributions that these rural schoolhouses made in the education of our state’s youth for the past 100 years now! |

You are invited to attend the Community Lenten Service this Wednesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Murdock. The theme of the service is "The Power of Forgiveness" with dramatic stories from 5 individuals by way of a video. You are also invited to attend the Community Lenten Service on March 17 at 7 p.m. that will be held at the United Methodist Church in Elmwood.

We are again doing theme baskets for each classroom for Silent Auction. K-Cookie Lovers, 1st-Family Games/Books 2nd – Birthday 3rd-Gardening 4th – Summer Fun/Barbeque, 5th – Coffee, 6th – Family Snow Day. The Spring Carnival is scheduled for April 16, 2010.
GIRL SCOUT COOKIES

Our troop has limited amounts of the following varieties for sale: Caramel Delites, Peanut Butter Patties, Shortbread, Peanut Butter Sandwich, Lemonades, and Daisy-Go-Rounds.
