Individuals serving as Treasurer in the state of Nebraska are required to complete continuing education hours annually This will be ongoing throughout the year.

Continuing education hours are needed to fulfill the 811 One Call Concepts training by the Village clerk. Training has been completed.

TextMyGov was the next subject of discussion. The Village of Elmwood just recently adopted this software as a tool to keep the public informed of important issues that arise within their Village. After reviewing the information and the costs a motion was made by Holub and second by Petersen to approve the implementation of this new system of communication. Motion passed with all members voting by RCV. Mid July is the estimated timeframe for implementation.

New Business:
Dean Helmick, who is running to Legislature #2 attended the board meeting to keep up with his constituents on the happenings of even small communities.

Holub brought up some information on the MAPA grant that is available to the Village. There is no cost
associated with gaining the information from a “Income Survey” for our community. This information will then be used to help the board apply for other grants that may be out there to aid our community.

The Board discussed renting 2 Porta Potties for the 4th of July celebration. The board agreed that this will be done and they will be placed in various areas around town.

May Treasurer’s Report was reviewed, and June Disbursements were signed.
There being no further business, the motion was made by Towle and second by Holub that the meeting close and the next regular meeting will be Tuesday July 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Murdock Village Hall, Motion carried unanimously by all members.
